“People, men or women of peace, who have made an outstanding contribution to international social justice and peace.”
Vision
The 19th World Summit of Nobel Laureates for Peace arrives at a critical juncture. Under the theme "Peace and Progress: A Path to Collective Prosperity", this gathering of the world's most distinguished peacemakers aims to bridge the divides of a world grappling with a multitude of crises. The summit will be a catalyst for innovative solutions, fostering a renewed spirit of collaboration in the pursuit of a more peaceful and equitable future.
Objectives
Among the main objectives of the event are to identify gaps in the current global peace architecture and propose innovative solutions. This could involve strengthening existing institutions, encouraging regional cooperation frameworks, or establishing new mechanisms for conflict prevention and resolution.
It will dedicate a platform to scientifically explore the link between media and peacebuilding. Research on peace journalism practices, responsible reporting, and media literacy will be presented. This objective aims to encourage local and international media to actively participate in promoting peace narratives.
It will prioritize the active participation of a thousand young people through our “Leading by Example” program. Through dedicated workshops and mentorship opportunities, the summit will empower young leaders to become agents of change.
It recognizes that lasting peace can only be achieved by fostering a culture of peace from an early age. A key objective will be to elevate peace education on the global agenda. Discussions will focus on integrating peace education into national curricula, promoting innovative pedagogical approaches, and empowering educators as peacebuilders.
